Tell me: your major, your place of birth, your class standing. Identify and describe your campus or larger community memberships, and your future goals (Are the two connected in some way?)
I was born in champaign and i want to become child therapist . first i plan to get start a social worker in child welfare. to help at risk children get off to a good start
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I am a senior and I am a history major and soon to be a African-American studies major. I eventually plan to teach high school for a short while, I really want to teach at the college level eventually.
I don't participate in school activities, I am very to myself. I love to learn any type of history, and if your curious why, how can I know where I'm going if I don't know where I've been!!!
I was born in Medford New Jersey. I am a sophomore and I am a criminal Justice major. I am not in any school activities cause i am just trying to focus on school and getting good grades. Playing sports may affect my studying and being that I will never be a professional athlete i minus well just try and get good grades and get a decent job. My future goals include something in law enforcement. I would like to be a police officer someday.
I have been working for the school dist for 15 years so i am looking to be a History (TEACHER)someday. I was born in East St Louis .IL down by St.Louis,MO Getting the best knowledge from you and passing it on.
I born in S F and grew up in an L A suburb until the age of 4, at which time my mom and sister and I moved to W Central IL. For most of my life I have lived in IL and have grown accustomed to the quiet way of life enjoyed by most of the country folk around the area.
My goal is to graduate from UIS with a Political Studies Major at the top of my class. Afterward my wife and daughter and I will be move back home to get "jobs" and I will resume my schoolwork, receiving my master's in education so I can teach at all levels.
I am attending school to internalize all the knowledge that I learn in all subjects I am enrolled in to better understand myself and the world as a whole. The next step is to impart that knowledge objectively on to my daughter so as to empower her mind and spirit. I feel that our childrens' generation will be facing some hard times in the future and the best way for them to deal with the system we are trapped in is to understand all corners of it as much as possible.
My intention for this blog is for us to better relate to eachother, regardless of our personalities, our colors (which is actually meaningless, coming from what Pres. Obama has characterized as "a mutt". We need to be more conscious of our environment and see that, yes, some races are under attack more than others, but primarily that the race wars have taken a back seat to the fact that this is first and foremost a class war that is being waged against us. We must not divide ourselves because of differences but must come together as the economically unfortunate so that we may have a more equitable share of this country's prosperity.
My major is Criminal Justice. I was born in Houston Texas. I am a transfer Junior from Parkland College in Champaign Illinois. I also have done an internship with the police departments in Champaign county last spring and summer. I am a wrestling coach for high schoolers and little kids when I go home to visit. I am also a motivational speaker for college students in order to help with encouraging them to keep on the right track and to finish their education. I hope to become a probation officer in the future after graduating, so that I can help offenders get back on the right track. That has always been my dream to help people out, no matter what their background or status is in society. Another one of my future dreams are to become a parole officer as well in order to mentor the violent offenders in hopes of getting them back on the right track.

I am glad to see so many of you working toward educating yourselves to make the world a better place, and being willing to do the work of educating others and engaging in public service. I see that many of you have many demands on your time, but I also want to encourage participation in the campus community from time to time. That is also part of your larger education, so take advantage of the speakers who visit campus and some of the other activities going on. You may find that you are having fun while you are learning something, and it never hurts to have some leadership or volunteer experience on your resume!
